Impressive video
I just received this in my email. This had me close to tears at the end. Amazingly, it was supposedly created by a 15 year old girl. I wonder if she's a military brat? If you haven't seen this, you need to check it out... Maybe I'm just sentimental after all the time I spent in the military? Let me know what you think...

Maybe I'm just sentimental about life itself. You are right that this movie (cleverly and far too professionally) shows all these individuals as warm, human, dedicated, brave, honourable. Nonetheless because war is wrong and the current 'war' is also mishandled I find the sentiments in it grossly offensive and a betrayal of the people it depicts.
They are not fighting for the sake of their loved ones. They might not know it but they are fighting for oil or for politicians to stay in power. They are cynically abused and the effort to abuse me and you too by playing on our emotions until we support such a fallacy makes me feel more than a little sick.
I can't make it work :-(
I'm not dead, I blogged! Ring all the church bells!
OK, it worked for me this time. That was a really neat video, thanks for sharing it.
I'd like to respond to "feeling sad," but since he/she was too cowardly to leave a link to their blog, I guess I can't.
“We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm”.
George Orwell
"Making mock of uniforms that guard you while you sleep is cheaper than those uniforms, and they're starvation cheap."
Rudyard Kipling
The church once thought that all war was wrong. When the barbarians invaded, the church rethought and developed the concept of "just war."
Any one who tells you that war is wrong doesn't realize that they are being protected and doesn't realize that they need to be protected.
Come back, Jules!
